Light of Doom
If you’ve haven’t caught Light of Doom on America’s Next Great Band, you’re missing out. Even thought they are still adolescents, they pretty much kick ass. Even filtered through network TV and their parents, they’re still hardcore enough to rock just a little.
They are definitely mining the heavy metal vein with influences like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Van Halen, etc. evident in their sound.
They were ‘founded’ at Experience Studios in Escondido, which boast clients such as As I Lay Dying and Scary Kids, Scaring Kids. From what I gather at their website, they are a School of Rock type place with rehearsal space and private lessons for bands. The website boasts that Light of Doom is their most famous group, but more of my friends have heard of the two bands I mentioned than they’ve heard of LoD. The website also states that Experience was started for LoD. So in actuality, they are a made-up band.
Vote for the Worst has them as their pick. If you don’t know VFTW, they choose a contestant on a TV show and help them get votes to keep them on the show. It’s their way of making TV interesting. The chose Light of Doom as their ‘metal hanson’. I don’t agree that they are the worst. I think Sixwire is the worst. Why? Beyond the GAY haircut of the lead singer, it’s the fact they are LAME. Lame, lame, lame. At LoD has a chance of being the next McFly or something for the Disney crowd. But Sixwire? They just suck.
I guess this proves VFTW doesn’t have any taste since they actually like Fagwire.
Here’s their tryout video:
Here’s them doing “The Stranger” by Billy Joel. Awesome.
Here’s them doing the stones:

For some reason, they’ve been playing Carvin guitars the last few shows.
